The City of Austin and Travis County will utilize the Warn Central Texas system today because of the forecasted winter weather conditions.
The message will remind the community there is still time to prepare and ask the public to limit travel on Thursday.
The message will be sent around 10 a.m. today, Feb. 2 via text message, phone call, and email through the Warn Central Texas emergency notification system - the regional notification system that is used to alert the public of emergencies in the community and how they can stay safe.
We encourage the public to take steps today to prepare themselves, their families, and their neighborhoods today in case conditions worsen over the next 24 hours.
