The Austin-Travis County Emergency Operations Center deactivated at 5 p.m. today. Limited staff will remain in the Emergency Operations Center to coordinate demobilization efforts following the winter storm and boil water notice.
Austin Water lifted the boil water notice for its customers last night 02/08/2022. Testing has confirmed that tap water meets all regulatory standards and is safe for human consumption.
All water points of distribution are now closed.
Over the course of the three days, points of distribution gave out 39,564 cases of bottled water. The 39,564 cases translate into more than 120,000 gallons of bottled water. Austin Water also distributed more than 15,400 gallons of bulk water from its two service center locations.
During the winter storm, Austin and Travis County operated seven shelters and two warming centers with the assistance of the Austin Parks and Recreation Department and the Austin Independent School District. Additionally, cold weather sheltering for people experiencing homelessness also operated providing shelter to approximately 500 individuals.
