(Austin, TX) - Council Member Natasha Harper-Madison and Mayor Steve Adler will hold a press conference on Thursday morning, Nov. 3, to highlight Item 4 on City Council’s agenda that will advance the Colony Park Sustainable Community project. Joining the elected officials will be Colony Park Neighborhood Association President Barbara Scott, Sergio Negrete from the city’s development partner Catellus, and staff from the Economic Development Department. Council is set to approve a tax increment reinvestment zone for Colony Park, which will close a critical funding gap and advance the long-awaited community investment that will create nearly 2,000 new homes (including 381 income-restricted workforce units), 1,200 new jobs, and more than 50 acres of parks, open spaces, and trails.
