Statesman CAP10K road closures downtown April 16, 2023

Texas' largest 10K is almost here! Whether you are getting ready to participate in the annual Statesman CAP10K or cheer on your loved ones, remember to prepare for road closures and traffic delays on Sunday, April 16. Runners will line up at the starting line at Congress Avenue (Ann Richards Bridge) over Lady Bird Lake and travel up Congress Avenue through the center of downtown Austin. The race starts at 8 a.m. on Sunday but closures will begin as early as 3 a.m.

Street closures will impact portions of:
  • Barton Springs Road
  • Congress Avenue
  • Cesar Chavez-Seventh streets
  • Ninth-11th streets
  • 15th Street
  • San Jacinto Boulevard

The course will be closed to all vehicles by 6 a.m. for the start of the race but will reopen as early as 9 a.m. on a rolling schedule following the last participant. View Alternative Mobility Routes to get around the road closures during this event.

Parking:

If you are attending the race remember to only park in designated parking areas. Parking on the grass/on unauthorized park grounds is a $250 parking fine during special events.
