American Airlines launches new nonstop service to Vail, Colorado

Starting December 15, 2022, American Airlines will launch nonstop service between Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) and Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE), connecting Austin and Central Texas travelers to Vail, Colorado, a popular ski and snowboarding destination.

“As our city continues to welcome more people and businesses, AUS is working alongside the growth we’re seeing by offering flights to more destinations than ever before,” said Gina Fiandaca, Assistant City Manager of the SD23 Mobility Outcome. “Residents have more opportunities to travel to diverse destinations directly from Austin, which supports our City’s mission to improve and expand our mobility infrastructure and meet the needs of our community.”

Flights will depart daily from AUS starting December 15 to January 9, weekly from January 10 to February 15, and daily from February 16 to April 3. Passengers to EGE will take a CRJ-700 aircraft with American Airlines affiliate SkyWest Airlines.

“AUS is excited to offer new nonstop service to Vail, Colorado, a popular winter travel destination,” said Jacqueline Yaft, Chief Executive Officer for AUS. “AUS continues to work with our airline partners to support the City and region’s increasing demand for air travel; new routes like this with American Airlines are imperative to that work and worth celebrating.”

“American is excited to connect Austin with Eagle County this winter,” said Philippe Puech, American’s Director of Short-Haul Network Planning. “Austin continues to grow and we’re proud to support that growth with new routes. This winter, American will offer nonstop service to 38 destinations from the Texas capital. From connecting central Texans to the slopes this winter to bringing more business to the heart of Texas, American is eager to welcome customers on board.”

The new service to EGE joins a lineup of current and returning services to seasonal ski destinations by American including Aspen, Colorado (ASE) and Bozeman, Montana (BZN).
