During each meeting, the design team will showcase the top concept for each aquatic facility. The concept for each pool has been designed using community feedback gathered over the past six months through virtual community meetings, online surveys, and community conversations.

Background
Givens Pool (project webpage)
The pool opened in 1958 as East District Park Swimming Pool and Bathhouse. Givens District Park and Givens Pool were named after Dr. Everett H. Givens in 1962. Dr. Givens was a dentist whose service to the community went far beyond his dental practice and into "personal diligence in the larger practice of healing human relationships." The pool provided respite from the heat to the surrounding community for 61 years before its final season in 2019. Funding for the renovation of the aquatic facility will come from 2018 GO Bond funds. Givens District Park began implementation of the 2018 Vision Plan in 2019 and is home to Givens Recreation Center.

Colony Park (project webpage)
Colony Park residents have advocated for increased investments, services, and amenities in their neighborhood since the 1970s. The Colony Park neighborhood is a recipient of the Sustainable Community Challenge Grant as the Colony Park Sustainable Community, home to the Turner-Roberts Recreation Center, and Colony Park District Park, which began implementation in 2016 with the latest phase completed in 2019. The new aquatic facility, which will continue to fulfill the community members' vision, will be funded by 2018 GO Bond funds.
