Cold Weather Operations: Parks and Recreation Facilities: 01/14/2024 through 01/16/2024

With the arrival of freezing weather conditions, year-round City pools will close during freezing temperatures. Barton Springs Pool (BSP) will close early on Sunday (1/14) at 6:00 PM. BSP will reopen as "swim at your own risk" beginning on Monday (1/15) and Tuesday (1/16) at 11:00 AM through closing. Starting this weekend, City of Austin golf courses (GolfATX) will close to protect turf and irrigation equipment. Grey Rock Golf course will close on Saturday (1/13) at 11:00 AM. All other City of Austin golf courses will close Sunday (1/14) and remain closed through potentially Tuesday (1/16). Golf operations may resume earlier with sustained temperatures above freezing.  The Parks and Recreation Department (PARD) is currently winterizing outdoor plumbing and fixtures. These will remain offline until temperatures allow for their safe return to operations and facilities are checked for leaks/damage.  All PARD operations are subject to change pending severe weather conditions.
