Background
The current rules and regulations were originally adopted in 1978. In 2013, City Council approved Resolution 20131017-042, which directed the City Manager to conduct community engagement to evaluate the current cemetery rules. The resolution was initiated on October 17, 2013. The draft rules were developed after the community engagement process. An initial draft was shared in 2018 and then withdrawn. Due to the pandemic and other challenges, the draft Cemetery Rules and Regulations are being shared now for community feedback before being submitted for the next steps toward adoption. The draft rules along with frequently asked questions can be found on the Cemeteries webpage.
