Several City of Austin offices and facilities will be closed on Monday, July 5 in observance of Independence Day

Some City of Austin administrative offices and public facilities will be closed for the Independence Day holiday, Monday, July 5, 2021.
Parks and Recreation Facilities Schedules
Recreation and Senior centers will be closed for the Independence Day holiday on Monday, July 5. Museums including the Elizabet Ney, Susannah Dickinson, George Washington Carver, O. Henry and the Old Emporium and Bakery, as well as the Dougherty Arts, Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural and Asian American Resource Centers will also be closed on Monday.
City of Austin golf courses, tennis centers and Zilker Botanical Garden will be open regularly scheduled hours on Independence Day. Austin Public Library Schedule

Trash and Recycling Schedules
All Austin Resource Recovery (ARR) trash, recycling and compost collections will be unaffected for the Independence Day holiday. Administrative offices will be closed Monday and the Recycle & Reuse Drop-off Center (RRDOC) remains closed to the public for the time being. Visit for updates on the status of the RRDOC and the availability of drop-off appointments.

Austin Animal Center Schedule
The Austin Animal Center will be open for Independence Day, July 4 during normal hours, 11am-6pm, but closed on Monday, July 5.
