Virtual Oath of Office for Austin City Council Members Set for January 6, 2021

The City of Austin will swear in its newly elected City Council members at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021.

Due to heightened COVID-19 Stage 5 restrictions, the swearing in will be virtual--not at City Hall--and will be accessible on ATXN and Facebook Live feeds.  The public is invited to stream from City of Austin social media and ATXN:

Individuals taking their oaths of office include incumbent Council Members Greg Casar (District 4), Leslie Pool (District 7), Alison Alter (District 10), as well as newly elected Council Members Vanessa Fuentes (District 2) and Mackenzie Kelly (District 6). 

The Mayor Pro Tem will be determined when Council meetings resume the week of January 25.
